Baofeng Lake is not an open lowland lake. Its narrow water surface turns between steep sandstone and forested walls.
The official Manual describes a high-gorge lake formed where water accumulated in a depression created by stream erosion along three sets of joints. A boat is central to the experience, but access paths, steps and the route to the wharf still shape the visit.

Calling Baofeng Lake “easy” can mislead. The central boat section reduces walking, but the arrival, paths and final transfer still matter.
